Obsessed with startup pitches? Know how to get to the core of a company’s pitch and explain it clearly and succinctly to investors? Love Shark Tank more than your mom? Are you an amazing writer? Ready to manage a team of a professional copywriters and level up their investor storytelling abilities?
Looking for ongoing contract work?
You may be the one for this job.
Rally On Media is hiring a part time Story Chief to oversee our team of contract copywriters who develop and script up pitches for founders to deliver in their equity crowdfunding videos. Their job is to digest a ton of information about a company, and develop a short (~2 minute) pitch for the founder of the company to read in a video we producer. Your job is to make sure that pitch would convince your stingy cousin, your naysayer ex, and your grandma all to invest.
Rally On Media is a video production company + ad agency based in Brooklyn that works with major and emerging brands to create high-energy digital content. We cut our teeth in the world of short documentaries, building a fan base of over 250,000 people, telling stories about the most inspiring people in NYC from street vendors and shoe shiners, to canners, chess players, and buskers. These documentaries have been viewed over 40 million times.
Since then we’ve transformed into an end-to-end creative agency + production company where we’ve found our lane as nimble, creative, world-class storytellers.
Our Equity Crowdfunding business is rapidly growing, and we’ve helped companies raise over $100M in the past year alone. We are aiming to 3x that in the next year alone.
- Your resume
- A cover letter
- 3 samples of pitches you’ve developed for startup fundraising or crowdfunding initiatives. These could be scripts, decks, videos, or other media.
The co-founders of Rally On Media are former management consultants who quit their corporate lives to spend 2 years living out of a car traveling the world. On those travels, we were supported by the people we met along the way from Mongolian nomads to Nicaraguan fishermen. We fell in love with this world and the people in it, and committed our lives to sharing their stories.
We deliver an amazing client experience that wows our clients - We go above and beyond when pitching, creating, and delivering work. We stay organized, communicate clearly and often, commit to and hit deadlines. We say yes a bit too much. We deliver world-class creativity, while remaining focused on client objectives, and not letting our own creative desires get in the way of what the client needs from us. We don’t settle for just getting it done. We want to be memorable.
We Are ALU - Always Leveling Up. Whether it’s in our creative, our processes, our communications, or how we work together, we are always leveling up our work. We are never satisfied with what we did yesterday and we’re always asking, how can we level up? We courageously step into new situations, even, and especially, when they are uncomfortable. We seek out and graciously accept feedback. We are lifelong learners who are leveling up our own knowledge while teaching others on our team.
We “say it” with compassion - A Say It moment is that moment when you want to say something honest and challenging to someone, and then suddenly a part of you jumps in and says “don’t say it!” but we push through and we say it. We have hard conversations and say things that are hard to say, with a focus on the human we’re having a conversation with. We believe that honest conversations are always best for the individual and the company. Everyone is done a disservice when we hold ourselves back from speaking the truth. It’s ok to disagree.
We do the right thing - When tough situations arise, we do the right thing, always.
We are human-centered. Rally On Media was created on the idea that people are good, and that sharing their stories can change the world. At the end of the day, we are people, making stories about people, for other people. We always bring ourselves back to the human element, whether that’s in our scripts, when working with clients, or with each-other. That means treating team mates, clients, crew, cast, and everyone else with respect, dignity, trust, and kindness.
We play - We maintain a place where creative minds can play, where out-of-the-box thinking is encouraged instead of dismissed. Films can change the world, but at the end of the day, no one’s life is on the line. We are some of the lucky few people in the world that get to be creative for a living, so we need to remember to have fun with it.
